NEET Counselling 2026 is the official seat allotment process for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS), and BVSC courses in India. After a student qualifies the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG), they need to participate in counselling to secure admission in a medical college.

Understanding the difference between AIQ and State Quota is crucial. Many students miss out on seats because they don't register in time for both counselling processes.
AIQ counselling covers 15% seats of all government medical colleges, all central university seats (AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, etc.), all ESIC colleges, and all deemed universities.
State quota covers 85% seats in government colleges. Only domicile/state residents can apply under state quota. Private colleges and deemed universities also participate in state counselling for some seats.

Before filling choices, use the NEET College Predictor to identify which colleges you are likely to get. Study previous year cutoffs carefully.
Fill as many choices as possible (100+ options allowed). Start with your dream college, then add realistic options, then safety nets. A student who fills more choices has a higher chance of getting a good college.
MCC and state authorities release seat allotment results after each round. Check your allotment carefully. You will have three options: accept and freeze, accept and upgrade, or leave.
After allotment, visit the allotted college for document verification within the given timeline. Pay the first-year fee to secure your seat. Missing this deadline = losing the seat permanently.
After fee payment, physically report to the college on the joining date. Complete your enrollment, submit original documents, and begin your MBBS journey!
