Common Mistakes to Avoid
β οΈ Top 8 Mistakes in NEET Counselling 2026
- Not registering for both AIQ and State: Both run simultaneously. Always register for both on Day 1.
- Missing the 4β7 day registration window: Set reminders the moment NEET results are declared.
- Filling only 5β10 choices: Always fill 100+ choices. More choices = better allotment.
- Not verifying document validity: OBC, EWS, domicile certificates expire. Renew immediately.
- Choosing college only by city: NMC recognition, hospital, and faculty matter more than location.
- Skipping mop-up rounds: Better seats open in mop-up. Never skip any round.
- Paying agents for guaranteed seats: No one can guarantee govt seats for cash. This is illegal.
- No NMC verification for abroad colleges: Always check nmc.org.in before paying any fees abroad.
